When Using One Eye;
Looking at the pen or far object; the far object between the left
and right eyes no longer looks like it is in line with the pen.It
will 'appear' to be to the left < or right > of the pen, depending
on which eye is being used. A different object will appear
to be in line with, directly beyond
the pen.When using one eye,first;
practice on the pen and far object that is between the left and
right eyes, in the left and right eyes central field.Switch to and shift part to part on the close and far objects. After
practicing switching back and forth on the pen and far object that
is between the left and right eyes; Practice switching back and forth on the pen and the object that
'appears' to be in line with, directly beyond the pen.Example, Setup; Use both eyes; place the pen
between the left and right eyes, eye level, in the left-right eyes
central field as shown in picture of the lady above # 1-Both Eyes.
Next; line the pen up with the center picture of the lady above;
#5; lady using her left eye.Pen is about 4-7 inches from your face.
(depends on distance of computer screen) Stand in front of that
picture. When lined up with the pen, the lady's
picture will also be in the central field, between the left and
right eyes. To get it exact; look at the # 5 lady
picture; the pen should appear double, a image on the left and
right sides of the lady's # 5 picture, in the eyes peripheral field.Move the pen closer or farther until
the double images appear on the # 4 and # 6 pictures while you are
looking through the 'gate' space between the 2 pens directly at
the # 5 picture.Pen and # 5 picture remain in the
central field. Next; cover the right eye. Practice
with the left < eye. Notice
that the lady # 5 picture now appears to the left < of the pen.

time and always ending with
both eyes together to keep perfect, balanced, coordinated
movement, function of the left and right eyes, eye muscles and
balanced function of the brain hemispheres with the eyes, eye
muscles, nerves, retina. The one eye practice produces 'extra'
perfection of accommodation
(looking close), un-accommodation (looking far),
convergence, divergence when switching, shifting on the pen and
far object between the left and right eyes, and additional
strengthening, perfection of accommodation, un-accommodation when
switching, shifting on the pen and the other object that appears
directly beyond, in line with the pen. The inner eye muscles,
ciliary, iris and the outer oblique are activated, change the lens,
eyes shape-length during accommodation, un-accommodation.
Convergence, divergence occur with accommodation,
un-accommodation. This practice and the main practice 'steps #1 to
8' above improves function of all the eye muscles, the eye and
lens... producing clear eyesight. Practice when needed. Often, when the
eyesight becomes clear and equal in each eye, the clear sight
remains for months, years without practice. As long as eyeglasses
are avoided. Incorporate The Bates Method with this Switching
Practice; apply shifting, central-fixation, memory, imagination,
blink, breath and RELAX.
Looking at the computer screen
all the time can lead to unclear eyesight.
Do this practice only once on the computer, just to learn it.
For continued practice, use real far objects; a close pen hanging
off a tree branch or in a open window with a distant view of
mountains, houses, trees at 5, 20, 40 and 200+... feet away.
(Cap the pen for safety. Keep pointed, hard objects, sharp
paper edges... away from the eyes. It's best to use a soft
object, piece of cardboard, braided yarn...)

one eye, 'both pen and far object directly in front of one eye'.

Directions must be done exact. Read that section of the book for
more directions, pictures. (NEVER place an object
in front of one eye when both eyes are in use, uncovered. Done
incorrect, the practice can cause wandering eyes, double vision.
Done correct, it will maintain clear vision and healthy eyes for
life, prevent the use of eyeglasses.)
